• Lead and scale a team of engineers responsible for building high-performance, real-time discovery systems across multiple channels
• Define and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with product goals and measurable business impact
• Partner with product and cross-functional stakeholders to set priorities, define roadmaps, and deliver impactful features
• Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
• Drive hiring efforts, including recruiting, onboarding, and building a strong, cohesive team
• Establish and monitor system performance metrics, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational transparency
• Continuously improve infrastructure, processes, and tooling to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and delivery speed
• Collaborate with other teams to define clear system boundaries and ensure seamless integrations

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• Proven experience designing and operating high-load, real-time systems in production environments
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, system architecture, and API design principles
• Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering teams in fast-paced environments
• Experience translating product requirements into technical strategies and execution plans
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Familiarity with JavaScript and modern web technologies is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed team with overlapping hours in UTC time zones
