Lead Shift Operator at Barton & Loguidice – Bethel, Pennsylvania

Earthcare is a leading provider of sustainable waste management solutions, specializing in organic waste streams in both the municipal and agricultural sectors and the production of non-wood biochar which are spaces in which it has operated for more than 20 years. Earthcare provides a circular solution to organic waste management through its patented gasification technology which converts an array of organic waste streams into a marketable high carbon content biochar (EcocharTM) in a thermochemical process that has been deployed throughout the United States and the world. Our facility in Bethel, PA is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Shift Operator to join our team. As the Lead Shift Operator, you will be responsible for the monitoring and safe operation of the biochar production equipment to meet daily production goals. Willingness to work up to 12 hours with availability overnight, weekends, and holidays is REQUIRED.

Position Responsibilities:

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot all biochar production equipment both manually and via computerized automation
• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain accurate daily production logs
• Receive incoming raw feedstock
• Report production issues to the Operations Manager
• Maintain and repair production equipment
• Act as shift leader with other production team members ensuring that shift production goals are met while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the plant management team

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production facility with experience in process automation preferred
• Strong technical, mechanical, and scientific aptitude and desire to learn
• Experience in equipment maintenance
• Good attitude and ability to be flexible to workload, duties, and schedule
• High School education or GED equivalent
• Physical requirements:
  • Stand, walk, bend, lift, and other physical movements in a non-temperature-controlled environment both inside and out for up to 12 hrs.
  • Lift and maneuver heavy tools and equipment up to 100 lbs.Safely climb on ladders and lifts
• Ability to clearly communicate both written and verbally with the plant management team and other team members
