Job Summary

• The Patient Advocate is responsible to plan, organize, and implement financial counseling services to patients and families.
• Responsible to screen patients to determine potential for program assistance, complete application with patient and families, and follow up after discharge regarding application.
• Maintain knowledge base of community agencies and resource to facilitate appropriate referrals, including maintaining a thorough understanding of eligibility requirements and current laws governing government programs, including Medicaid, specifically South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, healthcare business, or social work preferred.
• Two years experience in healthcare and insurance verification preferred.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $20.50 - $26.00 per hour
