About This Position

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional and is eager to contribute to the financial health of our organization. The Accountant will play a key role in managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and submit financial records, including general ledger entries, financial statements, and familiarity with bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Oversee daily cash operations, including transaction postings, bank monitoring, and fund transfers.
  • Process invoices for various accounts and funding sources, including Medicaid billing and claims reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and handle collections.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing.
  • Process journal entries for revenue, receivables, wire transfers, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with record retention policies and maintain proper documentation.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, adhering to deadlines.
  • Manage grant documentation, prepare reimbursement invoices, and ensure compliance with grant contract requirements.
  • Monitor financial policies and external regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing best practices for financial efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements for grants, donors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support year-end financial audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Diagnose problems quickly, foresee potential issues, delivery resolution.
  • Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with Medicaid billing and claims reconciliation strongly preferred. Payroll processing experience is preferred.

Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong numeracy, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Self-motivated team player with a service-oriented mindset. Evening and weekend work may be required. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with accounting software is a plus. Must pass a Level II Background/Fingerprint Check and Drug Screening.
