Overview:
Works for a Federally Qualified Health Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provision of dental hygiene by cleaning calcareous deposits, accretion, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
· Examines gums and locates periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease.
· Applies fluorite, sealants and/or other cavity-preventing agents.
· Performance of preapical, bite wing, occlusal, and panoramic radiographs if needed.
· Chair side dental assisting, if needed
· Administrative duties, if needed
· Provides oral health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients.
· Keep abreast of current information on the management of the medically compromised patient.
· Maintain and provide proof of current State of Texas license.
· Comply with all policies and procedures.
· Required to maintain confidentiality for patients and patient’s records.
· Other duties as assigned by Director of Dentistry or Vice President of Clinical Affairs
Education, Licensure/Certification:
· Licensed by the State of Texas
Experience, and Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:
· Must be able to hear (needs to be able to communicate with other staff while we are wearing masks and while hands are occupied)
· Must be able to wear latex or vinyl gloves.
Continuing Education and Training Requirements:
§ Participates in trainings required by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
