SUMMARY: The Water Truck Driver (Seasonal) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a water truck in support of landscape construction and maintenance activities. This role ensures proper watering of sod, trees, shrubs, and plant materials across multiple residential and commercial sites, while maintaining equipment, completing required documentation, and adhering to all safety and operational standards. The position requires strong driving capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Water Truck OperationOperate a water truck safely and efficiently across multiple job sites.
Deliver water to sod, trees, shrubs, and plant materials using hoses and side sprayers.
Adjust water volume and application methods based on site conditions and plant requirements.
Assist with pool filling and other water-related site tasks as required.
Follow site maps, schedules, and routing to complete daily watering assignments efficiently.
Complete work tickets with accurate notes, photos, and details on site conditions and plant health.
Track and submit daily time, production, and job information using company systems.
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, fluids, hoses, pumps, spray systems).
Maintain cleanliness and general condition of the truck and associated equipment.
Report mechanical issues, deficiencies, or safety concerns promptly.
Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic regulations, and site-specific requirements.
Participate in FLRAs, tailgate meetings, and other safety initiatives.
Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Operate with a strong awareness of surroundings, including pedestrians, vehicles, and equipment.
Use mobile devices for GPS navigation, communication, and digital reporting.
Accurately complete timesheets, site logs, and documentation using company applications.
Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Coordinators, and team members regarding schedules and priorities.
Support additional site tasks as needed while maintaining safe operating practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of driving experience required.
Experience operating water trucks or heavy vehicles in landscaping, construction, agriculture, or similar outdoor environments is preferred.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Education & Certification: Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver’s License or non-GDL Class 5 with Air Brake (Q) endorsement required.
Clean 3-year driver’s abstract required.
Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of Alberta traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Understanding of workplace safety requirements, including PPE, FLRAs, and job site safety protocols.
Familiarity with basic equipment inspection and compliance requirements for commercial vehicles.
Systems & Technical Experience: Experience using smartphones or mobile applications for GPS navigation, time tracking, and digital reporting.
Ability to complete electronic work tickets, logs, and basic documentation accurately.

Physically demanding role requiring frequent lifting, pulling, and handling of heavy hoses and equipment.
Regular climbing in and out of truck and extended periods of walking on uneven terrain.
Prolonged sitting while operating a commercial vehicle.
Work performed outdoors in varying conditions, including heat, sun, wind, rain, and dust.
Exposure to active construction and landscape job sites with moving equipment and traffic.
Requires stamina, mobility, and the ability to work extended hours during peak season.
