This role is part of a mission-driven environment supporting critical life sciences and biotechnology operations, where facility reliability directly contributes to the development of life-saving research, diagnostics, and therapies. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and continuity of building systems and production support equipment in a highly regulated site. Working within a collaborative facilities team, you will perform hands-on maintenance activities while also coordinating vendors and improvement initiatives. The position involves both preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. You will play a key role in maintaining operational uptime, safety compliance, and infrastructure efficiency. This is an on-site role where your technical expertise directly supports scientific innovation and healthcare advancement.
You will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of facility systems and equipment, including:
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure and utility systems such as HVAC, boilers, compressors, chillers, pumps, motors, electrical, lighting, and water treatment systems
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, repairing equipment, and ensuring proper functioning of building systems and production support utilities
- Conducting routine inspections of facilities, grounds, and life safety systems, and executing corrective actions based on findings
- Managing spare parts inventory, sourcing replacement components, and ensuring critical parts availability for maintenance operations
- Coordinating and supervising external vendors performing maintenance or repair work on-site
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on maintenance experience in industrial or facilities environments, along with technical versatility and reliability, including:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a similar technical role
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose failures, repair equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems
- Solid electrical troubleshooting skills, including ability to identify and repair wiring and system issues
- High school diploma required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong sense of safety awareness and compliance with HSE procedures at all times
- Dependable, punctual, and able to respond to maintenance emergencies and overtime needs when required
- Competitive annual salary range of $72,000 to $93,000
