About The Role
As a Shipping Operator in our Shipping department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and shipment of products. This full-time, hourly position requires a detail-oriented individual with prior experience in warehouse logistics, including forklift operation. You will contribute to maintaining an efficient supply chain process while adhering to safety protocols to support overall business goals.
What You'll Do
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials or products safely and efficiently within the facility.
- Prepare goods for shipment, including labeling, packaging, and verifying accuracy against shipping orders.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and organized workflow in the shipping and receiving areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by documenting all relevant transactions and movements in the system.
- Inspect and maintain shipping and handling equipment, ensuring they are in safe and proper working condition.
- Follow safety and operational guidelines to minimize risks and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience operating forklifts with appropriate certification (if required by company or state regulations).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage shipments accurately.
- Proficiency in communicating in English, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and document processes.
- Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced, physically demanding role, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping documentation is an advantage.
