About This Position

Cashier, Patient Access

Summary: Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager the cashier performs variety of duties/Registration.

Education: High School Diploma

Licensure: n/a

Experience: Two to five years directly related experience in Business Office/Registration.

Skills and Abilities:

Maintains balanced cashiering drawer.
Accepts and posts payments to patient’s accounts.
Responsible for daily deposit.
All checks are scanned to Bank daily, report is run.
Daily reports scanned to Finance and Business Office.
Cash is recorded, deposit slip along with cash is placed in the bag and is given to the Brinks courier. Log is kept.
Make copies of all checks, cosmetic payments quotes.
Credit Cards and payments collected and posted for the departments that collect copays.
Obtain the credit card settle batches and record the following day.
Print and answer questions the patient may have upon request.
Maintains and secures patient valuables upon patients request and keep’s a log of the valuables.
Responsible for securing cash/checks/and safe & maintains confidential information (HIPPA).
Ability to utilize responsive customer services skills when interacting and taking in consideration, cultural background, linguistic skills, and age of customers.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary Teams.
This position also will cover registration when needed having a registration back ground it is a plus.
Misc. Duties - Registration, and reports assigned by the Manager.
