PDS Optical is seeking a Quality Control Technician to work in our Optical Lab on Bishop Lane!

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inserting lenses into the frame, cleaning appropriately, and for checking all the cosmetic properties that are pertinent to the order. As the final step in the production process, the Quality Control Technician is ultimately responsible for ensuring the eyeglasses are ready to be shipped to the customer.

This is an entry-level position with the hours of 4:30pm to 1:00am, Monday - Friday. The starting pay rate for this position is $17.00/hr. Employees will receive on the job training, while optical or production experience is helpful, no experience is necessary.

Essential Functions:

• Know the order of production and make sure "PRIORITY JOBS" run the line first
• Insert lenses into metal and plastic frames properly
• Four-point adjustment on frames
• Check the temple length, attach temples and exchange temples
• Check to see if the lenses are big, chipped, etc. then forward to supervisor.
• Align lenses and check for obvious defects.
• Keep your work area free and clear of non-related work items.
• Clean and straighten your work area at the end of your shift

Work Environment:

This position operates mostly in the Finish Department of our optical laboratory. The temperature can vary, the noise level such as phones ringing may be slightly distracting. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other coworkers.
