About This Position
Full-time, 30-40 hours/week, Benefits eligible after 60-day waiting period.
Shifts may include:
- Monday-Friday, 2pm-1030pm
- Saturday-Sunday, day shift
- May include on-call
JOB SUMMARY:
Cleans and services patient rooms, bathrooms, lavatories, and offices. Cleans and mops floors, strips, waxes, and restores floors. Dust’s furniture and cleans equipment, cleans windows and window ledges. Empties trash receptacles scours and polishes shower, bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment. Replenishes supplies of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, sharps containers and air fresheners. Cleans and polishes doors, tables, and wood walls. Performs a variety of other duties as related to the position. Provide maintenance support for the Legend Buttes Health Services building and grounds.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Works closely with the Manager of Support Services, Nursing staff, co-workers, and the Supervisors of all other departments.
- Responsible for cleaning and servicing their assigned areas.
- Must be willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, and perform task despite interruptions.
- Dust mop and wet mop all hallways and stairways.
- Clean and polish mirrors.
- Clean patient rooms after dismissal.
- Vacuum carpets.
- Collect and transport refuse, clean, and reline refuse containers with a plastic bag.
- May perform other duties related to the job as assigned by Manager.
- Take part in quality/safety/ infection control improvement initiatives projects by observing/reporting/engaging/resolving any concerns or issues.
- Complete annual required Relias education
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must have the ability to read and write English and follow oral or written instructions.
EXPERIENCE:
None required but preferred. Must know how to use common household cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, etc.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL MOTOR SKILLS:
Ability to operate computer systems, talk in person on the telephone, hear in person and on the telephone, vision for close work, use of photocopier, fax machine, computer.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with patients, clinic staff, physicians, hospital staff, and the general public.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to Lift 40 . Requires setting, walking, standing, ability to be mobile, some bending, stooping, stretching and lifting, Requires eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires ability to move freely within the hospital setting to conduct job duties.
EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: Limited exposure to chemicals.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES:
Has written and oral communicative abilities adequate to comprehend technical materials and communicate with medical professionals. Ability to read and record information. Ability to understand instructions, reason, and make judgments.
