About This Position
The Reading Guru is seeking a current or former elementary school teacher/interventionist with structured literacy experience for a part-time, remote, commission-based Sales & Scheduling Coordinator role for The Reading Guru, a rapidly-growing Orton-Gillingham tutoring company. This position blends educational consultation with detailed scheduling coordination and is ideal for an educator who understands structured literacy and enjoys working with families and other teachers. Please note: this position is fully remote and is not a teaching position.
Responsibilities- Conduct consultation calls with prospective families
- Clearly explain our Orton-Gillingham tutoring services and recommend appropriate support
- Confidently respond to educational concerns (including dyslexia and reading challenges) to parents in a clear, reassuring manner
- Coordinate tutoring schedules by carefully reviewing family and tutor calendars, locations, and availability
- Match families with tutors based on skills and availability
- Succinctly explain student needs (diagnoses, reading weaknesses) to tutors during the matching process
- Manage multiple conversations with tutors and families simultaneously via our phone and text platform
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours, Monday–Friday as needed

- Elementary classroom teaching experience
- Strong understanding of dyslexia and structured literacy, including training in Orton-Gillingham
- Highly organized with strong logistical skills (comfortable managing calendars, locations, and multiple moving pieces)
- Familiarity with IEPs, evaluations, and various structured literacy programs
- Exceptional customer service skills, including excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email
- Compassionate and understanding demeanor
- Must be fluent in American English
- Available M-F during the business day or evenings for at least 10 hours per week (afternoons and or evenings are okay)
