About Range Treatment Center
Range Treatment Center is a 245G licensed residential treatment services program providing trauma-informed, person-centered treatment to adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our program delivers structured residential treatment in a therapeutic milieu focused on addressing substance use disorders through education, stabilization, skill-building, relapse prevention, and successful community reintegration.
Position Summary:
The Dual Diagnosis Therapist provides clinical services within a residential setting to adults with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders. This position is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 245G and DHS licensing standards.
The Therapist actively participates in daily milieu engagement and supports residents in developing an understanding of mental health issues associated with substance use, coping skills, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention strategies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive Evaluations and required clinical documentation in compliance with 245G and DHS standards.
- Develop, review, and update Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) based on diagnostic assessment and medical necessity.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy focused on co-occurring disorders.
- Participate in weekly treatment team staffing and clinical supervision.
- Provide clinical leadership within the therapeutic milieu.
- Respond to behavioral health crises and support de-escalation efforts.
- Collaborate with nursing, psychiatric providers, case managers, and community supports.
- Support discharge planning and transition to lower levels of care.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality, 42CFR, HIPAA, and DHS regulations.
- Support implementation of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
*This position may be combined with the position at the Wellstone Center to make a 1.0 full time position.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Licensed in Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
- Meet DHS background study requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work within a residential setting.
- Prolonged sitting and computer work.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to respond to behavioral health emergencies.
- Sufficient vision, hearing, and verbal communication abilities.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be able to maintain a Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance
