Eligibility & Referral Coordinator at Medical Center Hospital – Odessa, Texas

Position Summary:

The Eligibility & Referral Coordinator will obtain financial and family information used in determining the patient’s ability to pay at the MCH-Family Health Clinic. Will have a thorough understanding of the health center’s financial assistance programs, including State grant participation and eligibility requirements. Will be responsible for assisting in the grant auditing and reporting process and will facilitate the dental referral process for health center patients. The Eligibility & Referral Coordinator will maintain a professional relationship with patients, acting as a guide, advocate or “critical friend” and assist primary care providers to build community linkages.

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent upon hire or transfer to the department.

Training and Experience:

Aptitude to organize, file and perform clerical work with speed and accuracy. Typing and basic computer skills; good telephone etiquette. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

B. Must be able to sustain long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking.
C. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases.
