Responsibilities
Mythics is looking for an experienced Sr. Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) – Large Projects to lead a team of senior project managers who are managing large IT consulting projects. This role is primarily focused on leading a team of project managers who have a portfolio of long duration or high value, consulting engagements that require seasoned project managers and vary in length but can be as long as 36 months or more. These projects are typically Oracle SaaS, large cloud migrations, or high tier clients in the state, Local and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Lead and manage teams of 1-10 Project Managers
- Thorough understanding of Mythics SaaS and OCI solutions
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day interactions, understanding needs, evaluating solutions, and ensuring high-quality service throughout the project life cycle
- Work with Technical Team Leads to ensure technical objectives are within scope, represented in the plan, and managed accordingly
- Secure client sign-off on deliverables and documentation, either directly or in coordination with account management and team leads
- Manage project budgets and profitability by accurately forecasting revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization
- Monitor and control scope and requirements throughout the project life cycle
- Track and report on key project indicators including percent complete, schedule, budget burn, earned value, slippage, issues, risks, and opportunities
- Maintain an accurate issues and risk log with mitigation plans
- Track and report team hours and expenses weekly
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, revenue recognition, and receivables monitoring
- Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, and milestones to clients and team members
- Prepare and deliver status reports, including impact and risk assessments
- Manage and coordinate urgent and complex issue resolution
- Foster strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to enhance satisfaction and drive long-term partnership growth
- Lead account and management meetings, providing insights on schedule, scope, and budget
- Present quality, satisfaction, and success metrics during project review meetings with leadership
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Account Managers to ensure alignment on expectations, deliverables, dependencies, and risks
- Support business development initiatives and proposals by leveraging knowledge of client missions, organizations, and objectives
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience
- PMP certification
- 12+ years of experience in a project management position
- 5+ years of experience in managing IT projects
- 2+ years of consulting experience
- Experience leading and mentoring an assigned team
- Deep and thorough understanding of Mythics SaaS and OCI solutions
- Experience with Agile project management practices such as Scrum and Kanban
- Experience working with large government organizations for enterprise-level implementations
- Experience working in a large or middle-tier systems integrator on a variety of IT projects
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel, spreadsheets, databases, and data query tools
- Strong understanding of revenue models, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and cost-to-completion projections
- Knowledge of consulting pricing structures and billing practices
- Critical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and resolution
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions aligned with business goals
