Job Summary
The Facility Tradesman performs maintenance, repair, and minor construction work in support of government, operational, and administrative facilities. Work is performed in compliance with federal safety regulations, applicable codes and standards, and installation operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, and facility systems.
- Conduct plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and mechanical repairs as applicable to trade specialty.
- Support preventative maintenance programs for operational and administrative facilities.
- Repair doors, locks, walls, flooring, roofing systems, and structural components.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility utility systems.
- Operate hand and power tools in accordance with OSHA and site safety standards.
- Support emergency response and facility restoration as required.
- Maintain work documentation, service logs, and inspection reports.
- Comply with all safety and access requirements when working in controlled or secure areas.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance, construction trades, or a related field.
- Applicable certifications and/or licenses in the respective trade, such as electrician license, HVAC certification, plumbing license, or similar credentials, as required by state or installation policy.
- Experience working in industrial, military, or secure facility environments preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal safety standards (OSHA) and military or government facility regulations.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.
- Ability to work in controlled or high-compliance environments while following strict safety protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
