About This Position
G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
We are seeking a Technology Engineer, reporting to the Operations Manager, to ensure the quality of new products and processes, implement technology transfer projects, resolve product performance issues and implement cost savings programs.
This position provides technical leadership and support to North American manufacturing plants through close collaboration with plant QTECH engineers and key corporate functions, including Tire Technology Engineering Applications and Purchasing. The role serves as a critical link between technology systems, digital tools, and quality systems and their application within manufacturing processes and products.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with plant manufacturing, engineering, and other internal and external partners to ensure the integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement of product and quality systems. Responsibilities include supporting the introduction of new products and processes, addressing product performance concerns, and driving initiatives that strengthen manufacturing capability and product quality.
This role also contributes to enhancing customer satisfaction by supporting product performance and service excellence, including direct engagement with customers as needed to resolve issues and ensure expectations are met. The position requires strong technical judgment, effective collaboration, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Technical Support
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to maintain strong awareness of daily plant activities and operational performance.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve process and equipment issues and minimize production disruptions.
- Leverage process data and performance metrics to identify opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Management
- Lead investigations into product quality incidents and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct scheduled internal process quality audits and communicate findings and improvement recommendations to plant leadership.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve operating procedures and work instructions for assigned areas.
- Coordinate and support raw material and finished product trials to validate process improvements and new product introductions.
Project Management
- Provide technical leadership for small-scale capital projects within designated process areas.
- Utilize capital project charters to secure approvals, manage scope, and ensure clear cross-functional communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define required operating conditions and collaborate with Engineering to design and implement equipment in accordance with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
- Evaluate and quantify business impact following project implementation to ensure expected performance and value delivery.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Support
- Support accurate risk assessments for plant processes and ensure the safe handling and use of raw materials.
- Identify and implement initiatives that enhance plant safety performance and reduce environmental impact.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Perform activities that involve reporting, data analysis or special projects related to maintaining/improving the manufacturing process using engineering principles & statistical analysis such as Kepner Tregoe & SPC
- Carry out activities that involve facilitating development builds & trials, issuing product, process or material specifications
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering
- 2 or more years of relevant experience
Preferred
- Experience working in more than one plant and performing multiple functions within the plants
