Motive Power is looking for curious, driven graduates who want to do meaningful work early in their careers—not just observe it. Our successful candidate will be hired to work a full time, hybrid consulting position where you will be in office a minimum of two days per week. Our position is open to candidates who will reside in San Francisco, Sacramento, Petaluma, San Diego, CA or Houston, TX.

What you'll do

Our two-year Junior Associate Program is designed to accelerate your growth into a well-rounded consultant. You’ll contribute to real client projects from day one while receiving structured training, mentorship, and feedback. Some of the experience you will gain during our two-year program include:

  • Work on client projects across utilities, decarbonization, and data initiatives utilizing our project management, change adoption and process improvement methodologies
  • Support project planning, scheduling, tracking, and risk management
  • Analyze data and contribute to data-driven recommendations
  • Use tools like emerging AI tools, Excel, Microsoft Project
  • Create presentations, reports, and dashboards
  • Present to senior leadership, key client stakeholders, and at company-wide events
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to sales proposals

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or graduating by June 30, 2026)
  • 0–2 years of experience (internships, academic projects, or extracurriculars included)

Core Skills & Attributes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with data and draw meaningful insights
  • Effective technical writing and documentation skills (reports, presentations, summaries)
  • Proficiency in AI and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and think critically
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in team settings and build positive working relationships
  • Comfort communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously learn

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Exposure to project management concepts (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Critical Path)
  • Experience with tools such as Excel, Microsoft Project, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Databricks, Git/GitLab/GitHub, or similar
  • Familiarity with data analysis, dashboards, reporting tools, or automation
  • Interest in utilities, clean energy, sustainability, or decarbonization
  • Exposure to digital transformation, data innovation, or AI-enabled tools/workflows

The anticipated wage range for this position is $63,000-$84,000 per year based on relevant factors as experience, education, location, and qualification. In addition to base pay, Motive Power offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k retirement plan with company match, flexible spending accounts, $2,500 towards a fully electric EV, plus more.
