About This Position

Assistant Events Manager - San Antonio, TX

The Spirit of the Position: The Assistant Event Manager is responsible for overseeing parking operations and staff during events. Additionally, they will interface with and provide excellent customer service to all customers and employees. This role will also support the coordination and setup of parking operations for events across the event venue and surrounding commercial parking lots and garages, including coordinating flaggers and ambassadors as needed. The Assistant Event Manager may assist with event-related parking operations at various locations including, but not limited to, hotels and healthcare facilities. The Assistant Event Manager reports to the Event Manager.

Salary: $50k-$55k Annually

Schedule: Flexible Schedule with Frequent Night & Weekend Availability MANDATORY

Principal Job Duties:

  • Supervise parking facilities and event staff (cashiers, lot attendants, maintenance staff, etc.) during events.

  • Understand all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) for event supervisors, cashiers, and parkers.

  • Lead, train, support, and communicate with front-line event staff.

  • Ensure that event staff under your supervision understand all SOPs pertaining to their duties and provide refresher training as necessary.

  • Direct traffic within parking facilities.

  • Communicate with event management and traffic control during the event, as well as before and after the event if necessary.

  • Coordinate the setup and operational readiness for events across the event venue and commercial parking lots and garages.

  • Coordinate and deploy event support staff such as flaggers and ambassadors to ensure safe and efficient traffic and parking flow.

  • Assist with parking operations and event support at various locations including, but not limited to, hotels and healthcare facilities as needed.

  • Drop, move, and pick up parking equipment (cones, barricades, signs, etc.) as required.

  • Handle and safeguard cash before, during, and after select events as required.

  • Work independently and at times unsupervised.

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, customers, and employees.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must have a valid drivers license.

Experience:

  • Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

  • Previous experience with cash handling.

  • Previous experience in customer relations.

Skills:

  • Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to make decisions independently and remain firm on decisions made.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with diverse cultures.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment.

  • Must be able to work unsupervised.

  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.

  • Demonstrates the ability to seek improvement and contribute to value-added services and developments.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach.
  • Ability to move safely and quickly within active traffic environments.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds
