About This Position
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Service Manager / Fleet Manager
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and basic automotive services to ensure vehicles are safe, operational, and compliant with company standards. This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
This position is designated as safety-sensitive due to the operation of company vehicles and equipment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform oil changes on various types of vehicles
Check and maintain fluid levels, including brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant
Inspect and replace air and other vehicle filters
Rotate tires, balance wheels, and replace tires as necessary
Perform minor repairs, including replacing wiper blades and light bulbs
Conduct basic vehicle inspections and identify concerns requiring notification of a more advanced mechanical attention
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the service area
Communicate professionally with customers regarding services performed and related charges
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and operational procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Proven experience as a Lube Technician or similar role preferred
Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical systems
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and shop equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Strong attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license required
