This is a temporary role anticipated to last approximately six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs. Full-time availability (40 hours/week) is preferred; reduced hours may be considered. Hourly rate: $45/hour.

Position Summary:

The Temporary Recruiter will play a critical role in supporting OFN’s growth by delivering high-quality, full-cycle recruiting services across a range of roles. Partnering closely with hiring managers and People Operations leadership, this individual will design and execute thoughtful sourcing strategies, manage end-to-end hiring processes, and ensure a consistent, compliant, and positive candidate experience. The Temporary Recruiter will also contribute to continuous improvement of OFN’s talent acquisition practices through data, process discipline, and inclusive hiring approaches.

***This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.***

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with hiring managers to scope, plan, and launch new searches, including conducting intake meetings and clarifying role requirements and success criteria.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting, including requisition setup and approvals, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer development and closing, candidate dispositioning, and requisition closure.
  • Develop and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates using a variety of sourcing channels and proactive outreach strategies.
  • Represent and promote OFN's employer brand through professional, values aligned interactions with candidates and external communities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of candidate activity within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Ensure a high quality, equitable candidate experience through clear communication, timely updates, and feedback collection.
  • Partner with People Operations leadership to track, analyze, and report on key recruiting metrics to inform hiring strategy and process improvements.
  • Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Adhere to all applicable employment laws, regulations, and OFN hiring standards, with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive and equitable hiring practices.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent professional experience (5+ years) in a recruiting or talent acquisition role.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM CP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full cycle recruiting, ideally within a nonprofit or mission driven organization.
  • Proven success recruiting and cultivating diverse talent pipelines.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and LinkedIn Recruiter; familiarity with Paylocity Recruiting strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of recruiting methodologies, sourcing techniques, and structured interviewing best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and advise hiring stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated cross cultural competence and commitment to inclusive hiring practices that advance belonging and equity.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and follow-through across all stages of the hiring process.
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Asana).

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role with 2-days working in DC Office required
  • No travel required.
  • Role involves standard physical requirements of an office-based position.
