About This Position

Nurse Assistants are the heart of medicine and the foundation of the care teams that provide care to our patients.

We offer 4 training programs a year. These training programs are designed to prepare you for a career as a Licensed Nurse Assistant. These exciting programs have a combination of classroom (didactic), skills labs, and clinical trainings. If selected, there is no cost to participate in the training. You will learn entry-level nursing skills, how to be a valuable and adaptable employee, communication skill when working in a patient setting, how to care for people and be empathetic, along with teamwork and diversity skills for the workplace. Upon successful completion of the program and obtaining your Nurse Assistant license, graduates are offered a full-time position as an LNA at Cheshire Medical Center, in Keene, NH.

Responsibilities of an LNA are:

  • Obtaining and recording patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, height, weight and blood pressure, intakes and outputs
  • Documenting in patient’s electronic medical record
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living
  • Assisting the RN – tasks delegated by their direct care RN
  • Assisting other LNAs with designated assignments
  • Assisting with discharges/admissions
  • Keeping room/unit clean
  • Providing exceptional patient experience and care

  • The ability to work under pressure and stress, including the ability to keep composure and think critically
  • Flexibility and adaptability in the ever-changing environment of healthcare

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
