About the role
Grinder refinishes regular steel products to an Industry Acceptable level of Quality in a reasonable amount of time, to meet specified standards using a variety of power and hand tools. This position plays a key role in ensuring our metal products meet high-quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
This is for a vacant position.
Hourly Rate: $26.10-$29.02
What you'll do
- Refinish regular steel and specialty products to an Industry Acceptable level of Quality in a reasonable amount of time, to meet specified standards.
- Use power tools, hand tools, and abrasive materials to smooth all visible welds of doors and frames for a consistent and clean finish.
- Apply body filler and use appropriate tools to create smooth, uniform surfaces on metal products.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Adhere to standardized work processes and quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Record materials used and hours worked for job tracking as required during working hours.
- Work collaboratively and safely with colleagues in cross-functional roles and departments for related projects.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualification
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.
· Prior experience in grinding and finishing or a similar field is an asset.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
· Knowledge of how to use grinder, sanders and basic hand tools.
· Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
· Experience finishing bondo to the required standards.
· Experience focusing on details and preparing a meticulous finish.

Work Environment and Conditions
· Ability to be fitted and wear a respirator for extended periods of time.
· Working in a manufacturing environment daily with dust.
· Remain alert for extended periods, paying keen attention to detail
· Ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 lbs)
