We are seeking four highly skilled and detail-oriented Physical Therapist to work on-site at Ft. Bliss Army Medical Center, TX. Quality healthcare Personnel will be utilizing military records systems to assist the department and base in its mission. Specific requirements include the following:

Core Duties:

  • Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.
  • Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
  • Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
  • Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care.
  • Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required.
  • Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors.
  • Must maintain an NPI and the Contractor shall ensure this remains current throughout the performance on the contract.
Requirements:

Degree: Doctorate Degree.

Education: Entry-level physical therapists must be graduates of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Completion of professional coursework in the specialty area such as Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS).

Certifications: Basic Life Support identified in paragraph

Experience: Two years of experience within the last three years as a physical therapist.

Licensure: Contract workers requiring licensure shall have and maintain acurrent, valid, unrestricted license specific to the position (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) in one of the 50 US States and/or territories. Additional licenses held by a provider must be in good standing whether they are inactive, expired, or limit the provider’s practice to a military setting. The healthcare provider’s license(s) must remain current, valid, and unrestricted throughout the duration of the contract worker performance on the contract. The DHA PM 6025.13, vol 4, is the governing directive for all licensure, registration, and certification. Adherence to the outlined requirements within the DHAPM 6025.13, vol. 4, shall be met.
