In this role, you will act as a key Workday subject matter expert within a global People Technology organization, helping design, configure, and optimize the Benefits and Absence modules to deliver a seamless employee experience. You will play a critical part in ensuring Workday operates efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with business and regulatory requirements. Working closely with HR, Payroll, and cross-functional teams, you will translate complex benefits needs into scalable system solutions. This position combines hands-on configuration, strategic problem-solving, and continuous system improvement in a highly collaborative environment. You will also contribute to system stability, data integrity, and the evolution of Workday capabilities across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday Benefits and Absence solutions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across global HR processes:
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Workday Benefits modules, including plans, eligibility rules, enrollment events, and dependent coverage structures.
- Support open enrollment cycles, life events, annual updates, and ongoing benefits administration processes within Workday.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable system configurations.
- Perform gap analysis and recommend enhancements to improve system performance and user experience.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and manage requests using ticketing systems with proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across all benefits configurations.
- Develop and execute test plans for system updates, enhancements, and new feature rollouts.
- Create reports, dashboards, documentation, and training materials to support HR teams and end users.
- Validate new Workday features and provide recommendations for adoption and implementation.
You bring strong Workday expertise combined with analytical thinking, system configuration experience, and a collaborative mindset:
- 5+ years of experience working with Workday, with a focus on Benefits and Absence modules.
- Hands-on experience configuring Workday Core HCM, Benefits, Absence, Security, and Business Processes.
- Strong understanding of dependencies across Workday modules and downstream integrations.
- Experience building reports and dashboards within Workday.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, time tracking, and HR system processes.
- Exposure to HR technology automation, AI-driven workflows, or intelligent integrations is a plus.
- Workday Pro Certifications (preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with HR, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
