In this senior engineering leadership role, you will guide the development of mission-critical, cloud-native platforms that enable clinicians to access and act on essential genetic and diagnostic data. You will lead a sizable engineering organization responsible for building provider-facing portals and interoperability systems that directly impact patient care workflows. This role combines hands-on technical depth with organizational leadership, requiring the ability to shape architecture, improve delivery performance, and scale engineering excellence across teams. You will play a key role in integrating modern technologies, including AI-driven capabilities, into healthcare workflows to improve clinical decision-making. Operating in a highly regulated and high-stakes environment, you will ensure systems meet stringent security, compliance, and reliability standards. This is a high-impact opportunity for a leader who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, healthcare innovation, and scalable platform design.
- Lead and scale a software engineering organization of approximately 50 engineers, ensuring high performance, alignment, and technical excellence.
- Define and evolve the architecture of distributed, cloud-native systems built on AWS to support scalable healthcare platform capabilities.
- Improve engineering delivery predictability, velocity, and production quality through process optimization and technical leadership.
- Drive the integration of generative AI and automation capabilities into provider workflows and internal development processes.
- Enhance SDLC efficiency by promoting AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices across teams.
- Ensure all systems meet strict healthcare security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering execution with product goals and clinical workflow needs.
- Maintain strong oversight of code quality, system reliability, and production performance across all services.
- Provide hands-on architectural and technical guidance when needed, including deep dives into code and system design.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong technical foundation in modern software development.
- 5+ years of experience leading large engineering organizations (50–150 engineers), including managing managers.
- Strong expertise in modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, APIs, and scalable backend systems.
- Extensive experience designing and operating AWS-based cloud architectures at scale.
- Proven experience deploying AI or generative AI solutions in production environments.
- Strong track record of delivering high-quality software consistently in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement when required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to align engineering, product, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Pragmatic, data-driven decision-making style with strong ownership and execution focus.
- Experience in regulated environments, ideally healthcare or similarly complex domains.
- Competitive salary range: $220,300 – $275,400 USD annually (Remote USA)
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- Life and disability insurance benefits
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave (including pregnancy and bonding leave)
- Fertility and family-building support benefits
- Free access to genetic testing and additional employee health programs
- Commuter and wellness benefits
- Strong focus on professional growth within a mission-driven, innovation-oriented environment
- Inclusive workplace culture committed to diversity, equity, and employee development.
