This leadership role is responsible for driving business banking growth, performance, and client excellence across a defined regional market. You will oversee Relationship Managers and Team Leads within the small business segment, ensuring strong execution of sales strategies, credit discipline, and client engagement practices. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on coaching, requiring you to develop talent, strengthen client relationships, and expand market presence through disciplined business development. You will play a key role in shaping portfolio growth, enhancing client experience, and ensuring alignment with risk and operational standards. Operating in a performance-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with internal partners across credit, product, and advisory functions to deliver integrated banking solutions that meet client needs and support long-term growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop Business Banking Relationship Managers and Team Leads to achieve sales, growth, and client experience objectives
  • Execute regional business planning strategies to expand existing relationships and acquire new business clients
  • Drive consistent performance management through goal setting, reporting, and ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Oversee pipeline development and prospecting efforts using referrals, centers of influence, and community engagement
  • Strengthen client relationships through consultative sales practices and integrated “One Bank” strategies
  • Ensure disciplined execution of credit processes, including portfolio monitoring, risk assessment, and adherence to lending standards
  • Collaborate with internal credit, product, and business partners to structure tailored financial solutions
  • Monitor portfolio performance, ensuring asset quality, pricing discipline, and compliance with risk frameworks
  • Promote strong client experience through consistent execution of relationship management and follow-up processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related business field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, or financial services sales
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing managers or senior-level sales professionals
  • Strong background in consultative sales, relationship management, and business development
  • Experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial statement interpretation preferred
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams in a sales-driven environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with executive presence
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region, including overnight travel as needed
