Description:

Plan and organize the comprehensive purchasing functions for Comfort Flow Heating to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations. Work in conjunction with purchasing and warehouse personnel. Achieve department objectives and goals within budget.

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, plan and manage projects and activities
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Basic math skills including the use of fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
  • Knowledge of federal and state purchasing regulations
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record, insurable by company insurance
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with and manage a diverse group of employees and suppliers
  • Flexibility to work in changing conditions, work on multiple projects, dealing with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Plan, organize and evaluate purchasing activities of Comfort Flow Heating
  • Assist in developing purchasing policies and procedures
  • Select vendors for various materials, equipment and supplies
  • Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions. Award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
  • Establish appropriate inventory levels, commit to minimum/maximum levels
  • Assist in training new employees for warehouse department
  • Review requisitions orders for accuracy
  • Verify that materials, equipment and supply stock are available from current inventories
  • Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers, prepare purchase orders
  • Calculate cost of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts
  • Work with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve shortages, missed deliveries, and other issues that may arise
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of all company vehicles
Requirements:
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Degree in business, materials management, operations management or related field is preferred
  • Job related experience within specialized field is required
  • Continually exercises good judgement and discretion
  • Analytical skills

  • Efficiency of employees under supervision
  • Attention to detail
