Duties for This Position

Under the general direction of the OR Circulating RN, the OR Orderly will assist in setting up the OR Suite in preparation for various surgical procedures and includes setting up fracture table for orthopedic procedures. May help transfer patient to and from OR area. Terminally cleans operating room suites and other restricted areas. Assists in maintaining cleanliness of equipment and may assist with processing and cleaning of instruments.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Experience in cleaning OR helpful.

Required Skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to get along with co-workers is critical. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a demanding environment. Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment while remaining calm during times of crisis. Requires ability to hear and follow instructions. Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of OR staff is important.
