The Opportunity
As the Department of War Growth Lead, you will drive revenue growth by positioning and selling Merlin Group’s technology portfolio across federal Defense customers. You will focus on building executive relationships, identifying mission needs, and enabling agencies and partners to acquire and deploy solutions within our portfolio. You are a strategic growth and market expansion leader with deep relationships across the Department of Defense Community. You understand how agencies procure and adopt commercial and government-ready technologies, and you excel at aligning mission needs with proven technology solutions.
This role requires strong market credibility, partner collaboration, and the ability to build long-term client relationships that translate into sustained product adoption and revenue growth.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Revenue Growth
- Drive adoption and sales of Merlin Group’s technology portfolio across DoW Community customers.
- Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of product and platform opportunities.
- Work with account leaders, partners, and product vendors to identify and mature sales opportunities.
- Align Merlin Group offerings with agency modernization and mission priorities.
- Support contract access strategies leveraging existing vehicles, partners, and reseller channels.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with government decision-makers and industry partners.
- Understand client mission challenges and map portfolio solutions to operational needs.
- Collaborate with technology vendors and partners to jointly pursue opportunities.
- Enable agency stakeholders to adopt solutions through appropriate acquisition pathways.
- Maintain deep awareness of Defense modernization priorities, funding cycles, and acquisition strategies.
- Stay current on emerging technologies including cloud, AI/ML, cyber, and enterprise modernization.
- Provide market feedback to internal leadership and portfolio partners to refine offerings and positioning.
- Partner with delivery, solutions, and partner teams to ensure solutions align with mission needs.
- Support internal strategy and growth planning across national security markets.
- Foster collaboration between Merlin Group teams and portfolio partners to drive growth outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
- Proven success driving revenue growth within Defense markets.
- Experience selling or reselling technology products or platforms to federal agencies.
- Deep understanding of federal acquisition and contract vehicle strategies
- Strong executive communication and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Ability to obtain or maintain required security clearances, as applicable.
Preferred
- Established executive-level relationships across Defense agencies.
- Experience leading growth in organizations undergoing rapid expansion.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
- Experience capturing opportunities involving cloud modernization, AI/ML, cybersecurity technologies, or enterprise IT transformation.
