Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Akicita Federal, LLC – Henderson, Nevada

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide comprehensive, skilled, and competent nursing care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics. Working as part of a healthcare team, the LPN will support the mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) by providing culturally acceptable personal and public health services to the Navajo Nation.

Location: Pinon Health Center, Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), Pinon, AZ.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Per Diem: Travel and Housing expenses paid in addition to salary.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care: Perform nursing duties and manage patient needs as directed by supervisors and in accordance with competency standards.

Clinical Execution: Administer medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, and respiratory treatments as prescribed.

Triage and Assessment: Interview patients and families to determine triage classifications and evaluate interventions for life-threatening situations.

Medical Support: Assist with procedures such as splinting and suturing and evaluate patient outcomes post-procedure.

Equipment Operation: Operate and mentor others on specialized equipment, including defibrillators, electrocardiographs, and suction devices.

Education: Initiate and participate in patient and family education, counseling, and teaching.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 36 months of LPN experience, including at least 12 months in the required specialty (unless otherwise approved).

Education: Completion of a professional Licensed Practical Nurse program approved by the appropriate state accrediting agency.

Licensure: Must maintain an active, unrestricted LPN license.

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Cultural Awareness: Must be respectful of local American Indian and Alaska Native cultures.

Health and Security Requirements

Background Check: Subject to background checks and character investigations in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.

Citizenship: Must be US Citizen
