About This Position
Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Cafeteria Attendant for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY IS TO PREP, STOCK, SET-UP, MAINTAIN, BREAKDOWN AND CLEAN UP THE CAFETERIA FOOD SERVICE PERIODS.
30% FILLING FOOD CONTAINERS WITH FOODS, LABELING AND DATING THEM.
10% PERFORMS GENERAL CLEANING IN ORDER TO STAY IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT
10% PUTS AWAY FOOD STOCK, AND DRY GOODS IN THEIR PROPER LOCATION, ROTATING “FIRST IN”, “FIRST OUT”
50% PREPS ANY FOODS ASSIGNED TO THEM BY THEIR SUPERVISOR
OTHER DUTIES
IN ADDITION TO PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, THIS POSITION MAY BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS, WITH THE PERCENTAGE OF TIME PERFORMING EACH FUNCTION TO BE SOLELY DETERMINED BY THE SUPERVISOR BASED UPON THE PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS OF THE COMPANY.
• PERFORM GENERAL/ROUTINE CLEANING TASKS USING STANDARD HOTEL CLEANING PRODUCTS AS ASSIGNED TO ADHERE TO HEALTH STANDARDS.
• PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, SUCH AS CLEANING UP UNEXPECTED SPILLS OR EXECUTING SPECIAL GUEST REQUESTS.
REGULAR ATTENDANCE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE STANDARDS, WHICH MAY BE ESTABLISHED BY HILTON/HOTEL EQUITIES FROM TIME TO TIME, IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF THIS POSITION.

DAILY TASKS
10-11:15 AM
- GO THROUGH CAFETERIA CART AND LOOK AT ALL PREP FOR THE MEAL PERIODS OF THE DAY
- GO TO THE BREAK ROOM AND MAKE SURE THAT ALL EQUIPMENT IS ON AND SANITIZED
- CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE REFRIGERATION IS AT THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE
- COME UP TO THE KITCHEN AND START FILLING THE FOOD CONTAINERS ACCORDING TO NEEDS
11:20-1:00 PM
- TAKE STOCKED CART DOWN TO THE BREAK ROOM AND BEGIN PLACING ALL FOOD INTO THE PROPER SPOTS
- MAKE SURE THAT THE PROPER SERVING UTENSILS ARE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE
- REPLENISH FOOD AS NEEDED THROUGH THE MEAL PERIOD (11:30 – 1:00 PM)
1:00-4:45 PM
- FLIP ALL PANS THAT CONTAIN PRODUCT INTO NEW, CLEAN ONES.
- ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING HAS A LABEL AND DATE THAT IS CORRECT
- REFILL ALL PANS WITH FRESH PRODUCT AND PLACE ON CART
- ENSURE THAT ALL PREP FOR THE FOLLOWING DAYS LUNCH IS DONE
4:50 – 6:00 PM
- TAKE CART DOWN TO THE CAFETERIA AND BEGIN SAME PLACEMENT PROCESS AS LUNCH
- ENSURE THAT EVERYTHING IS SANITIZED AND CLEAN FOR THE MEAL PERIOD
- ENSURE THAT THE PROPER UTENSILS ARE ALSO PRESENT
- REPLENISH FOOD AS NEEDED THROUGH THE MEAL PERIOD (5 – 6 PM)
6:00 – 6:30 PM
- BREAK DOWN ALL EQUIPMENT IN THE CAFETERIA
- LOAD ALL PANS ONTO CART TO BRING UPSTAIRS
- MAKE SURE THAT ALL EQUIPMENT IS PROPERLY CLEANED AND SANITIZED
- ENSURE THAT THERE IS NO FOOD OR DIRTY PANS LEFT IN THE CAFETERIA.
- RETURN TO KITCHEN AND FLIP ALL PANS INTO CLEAN ONES
- MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING ON THE CART IS PROPERLY WRAPPED, LABELED AND DATED
- PLACE INTO THE DAIRY COOLER FOR OVERNIGHT STORAGE
THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS FUNCTIONS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY. IN ADDITION, THIS IS A HOSPITALITY BUSINESS AND A HOSPITABLE SERVICE ATMOSPHERE MUST BE PROJECTED AT ALL TIMES.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
THE INDIVIDUAL MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN AND DEMONSTRATE THAT HE OR SHE CAN PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB, WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION.
- GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ACCEPTED STANDARDS OF SANITATION.
- KNOWLEDGE OF OPERATING A DISHWASHER
- ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN ORDER TO READ LABELS TO PUT FOOD AND DRY GOODS IN THE PROPER PLACE, AND COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER TEAM MEMBERS.
- ABILITY TO WORK IN CONFINED SPACES.
- ABILITY TO PERFORM DUTIES WITHIN EXTREME TEMPERATURE RANGES.
- SUFFICIENT MANUAL DEXTERITY OF HAND IN ORDER TO LOAD AND UNLOAD THE DISHWASHER, HANDLE ALL SORTS OF KITCHEN EQUIPMENT, KNIVES, SLICING BLADES, ETC.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE
- HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR EQUIVALENT PREFERRED
- SOME WORK EXPERIENCE IN RELATED FIELD PREFERRED. SOME HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

TEAM MEMBERS WILL BE TRAINED IN THE PROPER USE AND CARE OF ASSIGNED PPE. THE HOTEL PROVIDES THE REQUIRED PPE. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT DEFECTIVE, DAMAGED OR LOST PPE, OR EQUIPMENT THAT DOES NOT FIT PROPERLY, TO YOUR MANAGER.
GROOMING
ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST MAINTAIN A NEAT, CLEAN AND WELL-GROOMED APPEARANCE (SPECIFIC STANDARDS AVAILABLE).
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 / hour
