Pay Rate: $22.53 per hour

What to expect in this role:

The Hospitality Coordinator oversees all of the hospitality services within the Hub of Hope, including our coffee, laundry, shower and meal services, as well as our clothing donations. The Hospitality Coordinator is also responsible for receiving, storing and serving meals to approximately100 -200 guests per meal service. The Hospitality Coordinator supervises the hospitality support staff, in addition to scheduling and supervising volunteers. The Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all meal service equipment, supplies, and spaces, in addition to the recruitment, training, and retention of meal service volunteers. The Hospitality Coordinator is the point of contact or the Hub of Hope Meal Program and will be responsible for addressing and resolving any questions, concerns, or conflicts.

What will you do in this role?

  • Supervise hospitality volunteer and support staff, including full-time and part-time employees .Conduct regular supervision meetings, promote team cohesion and foster respectful working environment. Elicit feedback to identify and implement program improvements.
  • Work with the hospitality team to manage the laundry and shower schedule and maintain a sign in sheet for guests who are using out hospitality service using an electronic record keeping system.
  • Work with the Assistant Program Manager and administrative support staff to ensure that our hospitality dtat is current and accurate.
  • Manage the Clothing Closet and maintain a well stocked inventory. Distribute hospitality donations.
  • Act as the point person for the Hub of Hope volunteers and coordinate with the Project HOMR Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Recive and store all meals delivered to the Hub of Hope. Track inventory of frozen meals stored on site and ensure freshness. Dispose of meals if no longer suitable for consumption.
  • Stay in communication with the City of Philadelphia, and Philabundance staff regarding aany changes to the meal schedules.
  • Comply with all local, state and federal health and safety regulations. Ensure routine maintainemce and inspection of kitchen and dining facilities.
  • Attend meetings and training, including supervision, staff meetings, community meetings, team meetings.
  • Participate in biweekly meal service operations meetings with the Office of Homeless Services (OHS)
  • Provide regularly scheduled supervision with all direct reports

What will you bring to this role?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Understanding and commitment to trauma-informed practices.
  • Current ServSafe Food Manager certification; if certification becomes invalid or expired during the contract, the individual is responsible for renewing certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and with team members
  • Excellent conflict resolutions skills. Ability to utilize de-escalation skills if necessary.
  • Minimum one year of food service experience.
  • Bilingual candidates welcomed
  • The ability to build trust and influence and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ability to navigate computer systems, use software applications and understand basic computer concepts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs with equipment. Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 100lbs
