Description: BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Clinical Education & Academic Partners Specialist is a key member of the Clinical Education & Professional Development team and plays a vital role in supporting learning and competency across the pediatric care continuum. Guided by the ANPD Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practice Model, this role functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion of scientific inquiry, partner for practice transitions, and advocate for professional role development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Supervisory Responsibilities: NO
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science - Nursing, Master's Degree required. Terminal (DNP) in healthcare related field preferred.
License/Certification Required:
BLS required
Active TN RN License
Minimum Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in nursing education or hospital education required. Experience in direct patient care
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrate strong communication, relationship, and organizational skills.
Ability to use design innovation thinking.
Experience with simulation, VR platform, EBP, or academic-clinical partnerships strongly preferred
Strong computer skills pertinent to use of simulation software.
Possess data collection and analysis skills.
Experience preferred in nursing research or Evidence-based Practice.
Prefer project management skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and oversees non‑provider clinical student placements, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and school affiliation agreements. Manages the shadowing program for non-provider students, including scheduling, participant orientation, and experience evaluation.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for instructor relations, maintaining effective partnerships with academic programs and clinical instructors. Develops, implements, and evaluates learning activities to support practice readiness for new and existing staff. Supports organization-wide clinical education initiatives and assists with rollout of new technologies, care models, policies, or clinical practices. Helps integrate standardized, evidence-based educational practices to ensure consistency and quality. Offers coaching and support to promote learner confidence, clinical competence, and professional growth.

Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
