National Compliance & Safety Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a National Compliance & Safety Manager in the United States.

This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity to oversee compliance and safety programs across a national operational footprint. You will ensure that all processes—from equipment intake and data destruction to recycling—adhere to federal, state, and international regulations, industry certifications, and contractual obligations. As a subject matter expert in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and hazardous materials management, you will proactively build a culture where safety and compliance are embedded in every operational decision. This position requires collaboration across multiple facilities, regular travel, and engagement with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies. Your work will directly impact operational integrity, employee safety, and client trust, while enabling scalable, responsible operations.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs across multiple operational sites, including certifications such as R2v3, e-Stewards, NAID AAA, and ISO 14001/45001
  • Monitor, interpret, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT hazardous materials rules, and e-waste laws
  • Oversee data sanitization and destruction processes to comply with standards such as NIST 800-88 and client-specific requirements, ensuring audit-ready documentation
  • Design and deliver compliance and safety training programs for all operational staff, promoting a proactive safety culture
  • Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans to maintain operational compliance and mitigate potential hazards
  • Manage client and vendor compliance requirements, including contract review, audits, and verification of downstream partners
  • Maintain comprehensive compliance and safety reporting, KPIs, and audit schedules to inform leadership and continuous improvement
  • Oversee hazardous material handling, storage, and disposal, and lead emergency response planning and incident investigations
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in safety and compliance management, ideally in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or ITAD/e-waste operations
  • Proven experience managing certifications such as R2, e-Stewards, and NAID through full audit cycles
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, data security, and occupational safety regulations, including NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards
  • Ability to develop and maintain chain-of-custody systems and compliance documentation
  • Excellent communication and training skills, capable of engaging employees at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risk and develop practical solutions
  • Experience building and sustaining a positive safety culture across multiple locations
  • Passion for sustainability, digital equity, and mission-driven operations
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary: $75,000 – $95,000 annually
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with multiple plan options
  • 401(k) plan with company match and 100% vesting
  • Voluntary life and disability insurance
  • Flexible PTO and sick leave
  • Opportunities to contribute to a mission-driven, community-focused organization
