What the role is about

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Laboratory Technician - Edibles Focused Lead   to join our growing dynamic team!  The ideal candidate will be driven, innovative, compassionate, believe in the goodness of people and cannabis, and enjoys the one team, one dream motto! The Laboratory Technician – Edibles Focused Lead will assist manufacturing team in the production of cannabis based medicines. This position reports directly to the Laboratory Manager.

What you will do

· Assists the Manager in setting up and organizing daily activities of the Lab Techs for the optimal performance of the Edibles Department.

· Reports to the Manager on all activities within the department to review potential improvements or adjustments to operational / growth plans.

· Ensures lab techs are meeting quality specifications for proper manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and workmanship

· Ensure all edible production activities and lab staff comply with state cannabis regulations and internal SOPs.

· Ensures the edibles team adheres to a rigorous schedule ensuring actions are done accurately and in a timely manner.

· Manages inventory in the Seed to Sale system based on completion of production tasks.

· Assists the Manager with managing ingredients stock, packaging stock, and other edibles consumables, and advises the Manager of required re-orders

· Maintains the cleanliness and organization of all assigned areas.

· Reports any production issues or quality defects to the Manager

· Able to work independently as well as operating as part of a team.

· Adhere to strict sanitation practices throughout the edibles space, and ensures adherence to cGMP & food safety standards.

· Ensure finished edible products are prepared and staged for testing and packaging in accordance with quality standards.

· All other duties as required by the Lab Tech job description.

· Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the edibles department.

Qualifications

· Must be 21 years or older

· Associate’s degree Preferred

· 3+ years of experience in chemical processing and equipment use.

· Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.

· Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds or more.

· Attention to detail.

· Ability to stand for extended periods in a kitchen or production environment.

· Ability to work in warm kitchen environments and maintain food safety PPE requirements.
