Job Summary:
This position plays a critical part in ensuring organizational compliance with employment laws, payroll and benefits administration, financial controls, and accurate financial reporting. The Human Resources Generalist & Accounting Specialist must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, professionalism, and effective cross-department collaboration. This position is a dual role supporting human resources operations and works closely with the Controller and Accounting Specialist to assist with financial reporting, including month-end reports, year-end financial statements, and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with state and federal laws
- Process employment changes, pay adjustments, and Personnel Action Forms (PAFs)
- Assist with payroll processing, audits, and reporting
- Support HR audits, reporting, and policy updates
Accounting & Finance
- Process accounts payable, expense reports, and vendor payments
- Assist with accounts receivable tracking and reconciliations
- Support general ledger entries and month-end close activities
- Reconcile payroll and benefits expenses with financial records
- Assist with financial reporting, audits, and grant or contract documentation
· Associate’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Minimum 3–5 years of combined experience in Accounting and Human Resources
· Experience in nonprofit accounting, healthcare, Medicaid-funded, or government-regulated environments strongly preferred
· Payroll and benefits administration experience required
