About This Position
Goode Company Seafood Oyster Shucker
As a Shucker, you'll play a key role in the heart of our seafood restaurant—our centrally located raw bar. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment and takes pride in precision and presentation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the raw bar area according to established operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen management and staff to assist with food preparation as needed.
- Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
- Expertly and efficiently shuck oysters and prepare other raw shellfish with accuracy and care.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner—your positive attitude and customer interaction will help shape their dining experience.
- Reports to kitchen managers and supervisors.
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Shucks fresh oysters and prepares other shellfish for consumption, using shucking knife or other tools to ensure properly prepared.
- Knows & complies consistently with recipes, portion sizes, quality standards and all policies and procedures.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area, including oyster bar, knives, gloves, sinks and refrigeration equipment.
- Opens & closes oyster bar area properly and follows checklist and assists others in closing duties.
- Assists bussers, waitstaff and other staff, when needed.
- Operates Micros and serves Oyster Bar customers food and beverage as ordered.

Qualifications, Skills and Education Specifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Must have the ability to understand and apply written and verbal instruction.
- Professional appearance (neat and well groomed) and demeanor
- 2 years of general restaurant experience, previous high volume oyster bar experience preferred
- High School Diploma, or GED preferred
- Ability to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills
- Able to work multiple stations in the oyster bar
- Aloha or Toast experience preferred
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Food Handler Certified
