About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test with strong experience in simulation and test development for robotic systems validation and a passion for the real-world application of robotics and AI in beauty. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape our testing practice from the ground up. This includes architecting, building, and scaling our quality systems as we grow. Our engineering team is lean but experienced so this opportunity will give you the chance to make significant contributions to the evolution of the company and technology.
The LUUM Robots feature an array of highly customized actuation and machine vision both classical and neural network based to precisely manipulate and attach the tiny extension fibers onto natural eyelashes. In more than eight years of development, weve assembled many of the pieces of this difficult puzzle enough to provide real services to thousands of paying repeat customers and now were looking to expand our team to advance the technology even further. Our newly deployed fourth generation sytem includes more actuated degrees of freedom and far more autonomy than leading surgical robots, producing an array of engineering challenges unique in the field.
Required Qualifications- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5-7 years of experience (or the equivalent)
- Experience designing, scaling, and implementing automated test frameworks for integrated hardware and software systems, with a strong preference for experience in robotics or automation
- Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or Rust for implementation of testing frameworks
- Working knowledge of C++ for integrating with and automating the testing of a large C++ code base
- Experience working in ROS2 environments
- CI/CD experience (Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience defining and executing test strategies across unit, integration, and system levels, with a strong preference for experience in robotics or automation
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Knowledge of industry standard best practices for maintainable software design
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on a small team of both technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Deep experience with Linux systems and tooling
- Experience building simulation-driven validation environments
- Experience scaling quality teams or leading SDETs
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing systems
- Strong C++ proficiency and solid understanding of object-oriented design.
