About This Position
This internship position will run from June 2 through August 14.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing team. This position offers direct involvement in product design improvements, hands-on prototype development experience, exposure to real-world manufacturing engineering challenges, and experience supporting a facility relocation project.
Key Responsibilities
•Support lean manufacturing initiatives and waste reduction projects
•Assist in plant layout, workstation design and optimization including electrical technicians
•Update engineering drawings and execute engineering changes
•Improve existing product designs for manufacturability, reliability, and performance
•Assist in new product concept development and prototyping
Projects & Learning Opportunities
Product Design & Improvement
•Review and improve legacy electrical and electromechanical designs
•Recommend design updates for manufacturability (DFM) and cost optimization
•Assist in transition to surface mount technology
AutoCAD & Documentation
•Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD
•Update electrical schematics and panel layouts
•Support facility transition through updated layouts and workstation planning
•Help standardize drawing control and revision practices
New Product & Prototype Development
•Assist in concept modeling and early-stage design
•Build and test functional prototypes
•Support lab testing, data collection, and design iteration
•Document findings and prepare technical summaries
Facility Transition Support (June move to new facility)
•Assist in equipment layout documentation
•Support workflow optimization in the new space
•Update engineering documentation to reflect process changes

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical
Technology or related technical field
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Familiarity with electrical schematics and component selection
•Ability to work independently and manage project tasks
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
•Experience with PCB design or embedded systems
•Basic understanding of ISO 9001 or quality systems
•Previous manufacturing exposure through coursework or projects
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a Full-Time Internship position with 40 hours per week
expected. The days of work are primarily Monday through Thursday, during hours of operation from 6:00am-4:30pm.
Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in training. The internship dates are June 2 - August 14, 2026.

•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
•Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
