Custodian - Office and Manufacturing Facility (Part-Time) at Custom Processing Services Inc. – Reading, Pennsylvania

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across our manufacturing facility and office areas. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning tasks to ensure all production areas, restrooms, common spaces, and office environments are hygienic, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Facility Cleaning:

• Locker rooms and break rooms will be cleaned and sanitized.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, including industrial-grade surfaces and high-traffic areas.
• Clean windows, walls, and ceilings, removing dust and debris.
• Dispose of trash, recyclables, and waste according to company guidelines.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Office & Common Areas Cleaning:

• Clean and maintain office spaces, including desks, chairs, and office equipment.
• Empty trash bins, recycle materials, and sanitize surfaces in office areas, meeting rooms, and break rooms.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and break areas, ensuring they are stocked and hygienic.
• Ensure that hallways, stairways, and shared spaces in the office are kept clean and organized.
• Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and wipe down windows and blinds.
• Shampoo carpets quarterly.

General Maintenance:

• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor for resolution.
• Assist with deep cleaning tasks and special projects as needed.
• Other duties as necessary for the company.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably in both manufacturing and office environments.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and safety protocols.

• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and prioritize tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

• Ability to follow instructions and work well with others in a team environment.

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in an environment that may involve exposure to dust, dirt, and cleaning chemicals.

• Basic computer skills to work with maintenance program software.

• Comfortable with heights and ladders.

• Comfortable working in both industrial and office settings.

• Previous industry experience is preferred.

Location:

• Reading, Pennsylvania (80%)

• East Greenville, Pennsylvania (20%)

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures, as well as office spaces.

• Part-time position with potential for additional time based on facility needs and prior approval.

Training:

• This position has a hands-on training environment, consisting of working beside experienced managers and engineers.

• You will receive continuous feedback regarding training and performance.

Advancement:

• Additional opportunities may exist with Custom Processing Services, Inc., different departments, divisions, manufacturing facilities, or subsidiaries.

Travel Requirements:

To East Greenville location (20%)
