Puerto Rico Hardwoods needs experienced workers to join our dynamic team as a Sawmill Worker and be a vital part of the manufacturing process that transforms raw timber into high-quality lumber products. As a Sawmill Worker, you will operate and maintain sawmill equipment, assist with wood processing, and contribute to efficient production workflows. Duties

• Operate sawmill machinery including circular saws, band saws, and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to cut and shape timber accurately.
• Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to ensure precise cuts and quality standards are met.
• Assist with loading and unloading raw logs using forklifts or other warehouse equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
• Follow safety guidelines diligently, including wearing protective gear and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Support carpentry and millwork tasks by preparing wood components for further processing or assembly.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards.

Experience

• Previous experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or construction environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other machining equipment is preferred.
• Warehouse experience involving forklift operation or material handling enhances your candidacy.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or related design software can be beneficial for understanding project specifications.
