About This Position
JOB SUMMARY:Implement our fatherhood program through community outreach and engagement services.
JOB LOCATION:Fort Lauderdale. FL
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Identify and enroll a minimum of 100 fathers/caregivers annually. Identify and connect fathers/caregivers to resources they need including, but not limited to; drug and alcohol counseling, mental health services, physical health services, child unification support services, employment and education, and returning citizens' resources.Completed assessments to determine appropriate program participation, referrals, and resources.Document and report on referral accuracy, goals, and completion according to program standards.Promote and represent the program through participation in community meetings and presentations.Facilitate 24:7 Dad workshops for fathers / male caregivers in the neighborhoods and virtually.Data entry and reporting for all services provided.Provide support for fathers that have graduated into the Alumni phase.
QUALIFICATIONS:Associates degree or a minimum of (3) years equivalent experience in community outreach, family support or related field.
Experience implementing outreach/ engagement services.Experience in the social services field, preferably working with hard-to-reach, underserved, diverse populations. Experience facilitating groups and training.Experience working with dads is preferable.Experience working with men in social/human services or fatherhood programming or experience in case management, counseling, and providing direct services to fathers/families and knowledge of community resources preferred.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Ability to handle multi-phone lines effectively.Working knowledge of office machines and equipment.Strong proficiency with computers, data base entry and with the full Microsoft Office suite, email, and internet.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; above-average interpersonal skills.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and information and apply appropriate judgment.Passion for providing extraordinary customer service and work.

Initially organized to address the issues over representation of minorities in the juvenile justice system. Our services are designed to work with runaway, tru-ant, and ungovernable youth and their families by increasing social and life management skills, academic success and self-worth aware-ness. We expanded to respond to issues of Family Reunification Services, Prevention, Emergency Food Pantry, Parenting and Neigh-borhood Empowerment. Since inception, our focus has been on the needs of disadvantaged youth and the families in the inner city of Fort Lauder-dale and Broward County as a whole.
