Job Description:
Chesapeake Human Services Division of Social Services is seeking a full-time Client Technologies Analyst II. This position, under the supervision of the Systems Analyst I, will assist in all Social Services Information Technology areas of responsibility. The Client Technologies Analyst II will collaborate with staff and manage projects as well as provide technical services, tutorials and trainings. The selected candidate will contribute to the analysis, development, maintenance, testing and support of all systems, hardware and software. The selected candidate will support all aspects of the Division’s systems, hardware and software life-cycles.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
The purpose of this position is to provide responsible and complex client computer systems support. The position is responsible for computer systems installation, upgrades, inventory, training, user assistance, and associated duties. The position works within broad policy and organizational guidelines; independently plans and implements projects; reports progress of major activities through periodic conferences and meetings.

TYPICAL TASKS:
  • Analyzes client requests for new or improved computer technology systems and researches current technologies to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Assists clients with hardware and software issues related to computer systems
  • Installs new computer systems and provides initial and follow-up training for users
  • Performs system and network administration, including managing user access, adding/deleting users, and assigning passwords
  • Completes special projects or tasks involving specialized computer systems as assigned
  • Performs administrative duties such as maintaining inventory and records, assisting with budgets, monitoring expenditures, ordering supplies, preparing system specifications, maintaining documentation, conducting studies, and preparing reports
  • Participates in or leads staff and training meetings to share information
  • Attends training sessions, seminars, and conferences to enhance technical and professional skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this position requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-terms department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.

Prefer two or more years work experience in a Help Desk environment
Prefer two or more years of Human Services or local government experience
Experience supporting any of the following or similar systems/software: Lasherfiche, Everbridge, WEBEOC, State or Local software programs
Experience with access security systems (example – card readers and cameras)
