As a Founding Engineer, you will tackle complex challenges in distributed systems, scalability, and performance, contributing to a product designed to transform how large-scale data is processed and observed. You will work closely with experienced founders and play a key role in shaping both the technical architecture and the engineering culture. The role requires a hands-on approach, combining deep technical expertise with a strong product mindset. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, innovate, and directly influence the direction of the platform. • Design, build, and scale distributed systems, database engines, or storage platforms from scratch
• Optimize system performance, efficiency, and cost at scale, ensuring every resource is effectively utilized
• Rapidly prototype and experiment to validate product ideas and meet evolving customer needs
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders and users to understand pain points and translate them into technical solutions
• Contribute to the overall system architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Take ownership across the full development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and iteration
• Help define engineering best practices and contribute to building a strong, high-performing team culture

• 5 to 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on distributed systems, storage, or database technologies
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, Python, or Rust
• Proven experience designing and building large-scale, high-performance systems
• Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building products from the ground up
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments and take ownership of key decisions
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, and a collaborative attitude
• Familiarity with areas such as observability, caching systems, AI/ML, or LLMs is a plus
