Summary Objective

The Senior Production Manager reports directly to the Site Director and is responsible for overseeing and managing the fabrication and assembly of units across multiple trades, including structural steel, mechanical, electrical, and welding. This role ensures production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality and schedule requirements. The Senior Production Manager leads day-to-day operations on the shop floor, coordinating resources, removing barriers, and driving accountability to deliver finished products that meet Stellar Energy’s standards and customer expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Production Oversight:
    1. Directly manage the daily execution of product fabrication and assembly across all assigned trades.
    2. Monitor workflow, manpower allocation, and resource utilization to ensure projects remain on schedule.
    3. Coordinate with planning, scheduling, and procurement teams to align production with project requirements.
    4. Proactively address bottlenecks, technical issues, and production risks.
  • Workforce Leadership:
    1. Supervise and provide direction to foremen and team leads across structural steel, mechanical, electrical, and welding groups.
    2. Ensure workforce is trained, qualified, and equipped to meet production needs.
    3. Partner with HR on employee performance, development, and corrective action when required.
    4. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
  • Quality & Safety:
    1. Ensure all work is performed to company quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
    2. Collaborate with quality assurance teams on inspections and corrective actions.
    3. Enforce all safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and model safe practices.
    4. Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning as needed.
  • Operational Excellence:
    1. Track production performance against budget and schedule, reporting progress to the Site Director.
    2. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, increase throughput, and improve quality.
    3. Support ISO 9001 and other audit requirements through consistent process adherence.
    4. Drive coordination between trades to ensure seamless execution and integration of systems.
    5. Confirm Design Reviews and associated SEA.7.31.DE.3F02 Engineering Checklist Template are completed accurately and timely submission to Manufacturing Engineer and Site Director.
  • Customer and Executive Communication:
    1. Support the Site Director during customer visits, audits, and executive walkthroughs.
    2. Communicate production status, challenges, and successes clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
    3. Represent the production team professionally in cross-functional and leadership meetings.
  • Safety / Tools
    1. Implement and monitor overall shop safety.
    2. Continual process monitoring for improvements.
    3. Monitor shop cleanliness daily.
    4. Monitor and notification to Fabrication Manager for tool certifications, calibrations etc., as necessary.

Work Environment

This position operates out of a manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travel during the business day.

Required Education and Experience

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ Years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in USA.
