Position Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the delivery of materials, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company and carrier standards. This position works closely with sales, operations, and quality control teams to ensure efficient and seamless operations.

Essential Functions:

  1. Focused. Schedule deliveries between plants to ensure timely and efficient transport.
  2. Respect and engage. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, quality control, operations) to align dispatch activities with business goals and customer expectations.
  3. Compulsive Tinkering. Manage order entries and keep dispatch systems and equipment/trucking schedules up to date.
  4. Mastery. Maintain accurate dispatch records, including daily schedules, delivery logs, and driver assignments.
  5. Communicate. Coordinate product deliveries to various project sites based on customer and project needs.

Position Requirements

Requirements, Education and Experience:

  1. High school degree or equivalent
  2. Some vocational training or job-related course work, preferred
  3. 3-5 years' experience in communications or dispatch, preferred.
  4. 1-2 years in the road construction industry, preferred
  5. Proficient verbal and written English
  6. Legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. This is mostly sedentary, outside of travel, in an office space. The abilities to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bending, or standing, as necessary, are required.
