Acierto LLC is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to lead and implement safety protocols across federal construction projects, specifically within VA hospitals across the western U.S. This is a mission-critical role responsible for developing, enforcing, and refining jobsite safety programs that meet or exceed OSHA and government contract standards. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain the site-specific safety plan/program.
Create and update Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for each phase of work.
Conduct and document daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
Perform site inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Manage and maintain site safety documentation and personnel certifications (OSHA 10/30).
Maintain accurate and timely safety-related entries in daily project reports.
Coordinate closely with the superintendent, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Participate in weekly project progress meetings and report on safety performance.
Use Procore or similar software to manage reports, documentation, and records.
Be available for after-hours or weekend work based on project needs.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry.
High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Must be able to pass a federal background check.
OSHA 30 Certification (required).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead safety culture on site.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDFs).
Experience using Procore or similar project management platforms.
Honest, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding safety compliance and efficiency.
