Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Diagnostics & Repair

  • Perform advanced wiring repairs, module replacement, programming, and initialization in accordance with Ford service procedures.
  • Utilize Ford approved diagnostic tools including IDS/FDRS, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and OEM service software.

Technical Escalation & Shop Support

  • Act as the escalation point for unresolved or repeat electrical concerns.
  • Support and mentor Service Technicians and Apprentices by providing diagnostic guidance and technical insight.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis to reduce repeat repairs, comebacks, and warranty chargebacks.

Hybrid, EV & Advanced Vehicle Systems

  • Diagnose and service hybrid and electric vehicles (including high-voltage systems where certified).
  • Perform software updates, calibrations, and ADAS resets as required.
  • Stay current with Ford technical bulletins, recalls, and evolving vehicle requirements, and WorkSafeBC safety standards.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Service Advisors to clearly explain diagnostic findings and recommended repairs.
  • Participate in Ford training, certification programs, and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to shop efficiency, CSI performance, and overall Fixed Operations success.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • Red Seal Automotive Service Technician (or equivalent journeyperson certification).
  • Minimum 5 + years of dealership or equivalent automotive repair experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced electrical diagnostics and repair.
  • Strong understanding of modern Ford vehicle electronics and network systems.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent).
  • Advanced diagnostic and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Hight attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support other technicians.
  • Ability to work independently on complex repairs.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred:
