Position Title: Quarry Manager

Department: Quarry

Supervisor: Director of Materials

Location: Colbert County, AL

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and execute strategic plans for quarry operations to meet production goals and business objectives.
• Oversee daily operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing, and material handling.
• Monitor and optimize operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
• Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and lead safety training programs.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure that extracted and processed materials meet industry standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor financial performance, track production costs, and implement cost-control measures.
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quarry operations or mining, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, and material processing.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in a quarry environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying materials, as well as climbing and inspecting equipment.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge preferred, but not required
• Ability to obtain FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Requires personal transportation to job sites
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
